How does the dentist use the Smylist Professional smile design software to design your smile?
| 1) |
Your dentist will inform you about the possibilities of smile design. Perhaps he/she will present you some previous treatments by using the Before/After gallery. |
| 2) |
2) The dentist will demonstrate the principles of facial, smile, tooth and gingival harmony (serving as the basis of smile design), the main smile types and their properties to you. |
| 3) |
If you decide upon the treatment, your dentist will take a facial photo of you showing a wide smile (saying ‘cheese’), with the upper teeth slightly touching the lower lip. This photo will serve as the basis for the smile design images produced by the software with the help of tooth templates. |
| 4) |
Your dentist might take several photos of your teeth. |
| 5) |
Your dentist will save the base image and the tooth images into your galleries in the software. |
|
| 6) |
In the software the dentist will cut the lip photo for inserting the tooth templates from the (facial) base image of smile design. |
| 7) |
Next step will be the smile typification by inserting tooth templates, and deciding what smile type and character is harmonizing best with the face. The dentist will select the custom smile with you, based on your preferences and the principles of harmony, but with strict consideration of the feasibility. |
| 8) |
For ordering some services from the dental technician, your dentist will forward him the smile design image printout or the saved image from the Smylist Professional contains the parameters of the tooth template and the comments. |
| 9) |
After the treatment the dentist will take new photos of your teeth, and save them to your galleries in the software. |
| 10) |
The dentist can make Before/After image pairs, and you can evaluate the result of the treatment together. |
